SWOPPER QUESTIONS
What’s the difference between the more expensive Special Edition Swopper and the less expensive Cachet Edition Swopper?
The main and most important difference is in the durability of the fabric. The office furniture industry uses a guideline called “double rub” to evaluate the durability of the fabric. A “double rub” is done on a machine that rubs the fabric until a hole develops in it. One pass back and forth on the fabric constitutes a “double rub”. We recommend a rating of at least 150,000 double rubs for 8 hour a day usage.
The less expensive Cachet Swopper fabric is rated at 33,000 double rubs while the Special Edition Swopper is rated at 200,000 double rubs, making it approximately 6 times more durable.
The factory warranties the Cachet for 2 years, while the Alcantara Ultra Suede Fabric on the Special Edition is warrantied for 10 years with 100% free fabric replacement for five years and 50% for the second five years.
Are wheels good on the Swopper?
The wheels that are available on Swoppers have a braking system on them that locks the wheels on the Swopper when no one is sitting on it, which means the user needs to be sitting on it for the wheels to roll. On most carpet, the wheels sink into the carpet which prevents it from rolling due to the pivot point being on the bottom of the cylinder. In most cases, the user needs to get off the Swopper and drag it in order to move it.
